Loud explosion and blue flash top of sydenham hill?

Around 9.40pmm tonight huge bang and blue light flash filling the sky, any solutions anyone?

Checked the street and looked from high windows and no blaze or fire so very perplexing!

One huge bang though relating to such celebrations? Unlikely...

A (blueish) flash and a loud bang I remember accompanying an accident when a road repairer put a drill through a mains cable - took out half my building in the City (we had dual routed supply for security reasons, so only half). The guy with the road drill was thrown about 10 feet in the air, but survived, luckily, with relatively minor burns and bruises, if I recall.

I saw the flash and that was followed by one very splendid chrysanthemum style firework at around that time in the direction of crystal palace, so I think it was the firework you saw.
