Wasn't that a hairdressers which according to a recent thread on here has now closed, or is about to?

Roche?

The site the barbers is opening has a smaller retail space than Roche which I expect has a cheaper lease.

Incidentally, it appears Linda's Hairdressers opposite The Grove has filled the void left by Roche's closure.

  • 4 weeks later...

The price list is up and it's very similar to other places nearby: dry cut, ?12. That is a bit more (?1.50) than the place I like (next door but one to Mrs Robinson) and I was hoping the new place at the Plough would be a bit cheaper than places much further down the lane. Perhaps it's going after the more affluent Village-side lot.

Hopefully it'll open soon and be an asset to this part of SE22.

?12? That's ridiculous for a barbers haircut. I know of decent salons who do men's hair to a high standard for just a little more. A barber should charge no more than ?6 for a haircut. The care, love and attention you get in a proper salon cannot be replicated by a barber. I always insist Mr Louisa goes to my regular salon. Nothing worse than a badly blended graded cut, shudders.

Louisa.

It's always interested me , this concept that the only time one needs to "strap up" is at the weekend.

Or does the phrase imply sex is only had at the weekend ?

    • Good that PETA is on it but can we add our voices to the fight against this horrible practice? I’m still shocked! A petition maybe? Happy to raise to the RSPCA but don’t want to duplicate efforts. I’ve signed campaigns from RSPCA before which sends it directly to your councillor
    • Yes, I'm aware of that. I believe the brood was five to begin with. However they are almost adult size now so not the prey of rats any longer.
    • Happy to recommend Greg. Lovely guy and a really hard worker, high standard of work, clean and tidy too. Greg sorted out a tricky water tank problem in a tight space in a loft, staying late into the evening to get the correct parts and fix the problem. Thanks Greg!
    • Birds have large broods as it is unlikely all their offspring will make it through to adulthood.  Nature.  Important to reduce unnatural predation such as rats.
