where is the heart of east dulwich?

Recommended Posts

The branding on the windows of the new development opposite the Railway Station say it's there. But I really don't think it is the pumping heart of East Dulwich. perhaps it's a pub or Somerfield or even Foxtons. So where do you think is it? Discuss.....

Personally I would have to say my home, but exactly where the heart of ED would be is down to personal preference. It could be starbucks for one, or The EDT or GBK for the other. It all depends really.

Cheners. It's a good mix of old and new (although only the new books are the new thing about it).

(And I've just been reading the Cheners thread and independent bookstores are important and since the library is naff the bookstore for us what can afford to buy books is a good alterantive!)

Failing Cheners, I'd say the junction of North Cross Road and Lordship Lane but not the ex 7-11 though!

I guess the geographic heart should be where there are equal areas of land on all sides. Well we've got two EDs to choose from:

SE22

and the Electoral Ward

If we go by SE22 it strikes me that the heart of ED seems to be.... The CPT.

If we go by the Electoral Ward the heart seems to be.... The Blue Brick Cafe.
