They will set up cameras at known Fly-Tipping sites and fine people 100's of pounds..

This has been tried in other areas and has proved lucrative.. although they don't admit it.

It saves them money picking up goods... and the make money in fines.. They win both ways..

Close public toilets -- Fine people who wee in the street..

Remove Litter bins -- Fine people who drop litter..

Paint Yellow lines Everywhere -- Fine people who park.

This is how councils make their money..

What do you mean by consider exemptions for poor families? How would that work?

There is/was so much fly tipping near me in the past year. The area on the corner of Coplestone Road and Oxenford street is particularly bad.

Flipping annoying. I have to get rid of a piece of garden furniture which is falling apart irretrievably, not that big, but too big to go in the bin, hard to justify spending ?16 on, but what else am I going to do? No car to take it to the tip.

If anyone else is organising a bulk collection I can add this too for a couple of quid, let me know!

And Southwark will have it again. -- James, a particular hot-spot for fly tipping is the car wash / car park area near Dulwich Hamlet Football Club. If it isn't a mattress it's a sofa. That sort of thing. -- Can you look into CCTV monitoring of the road leading toward the playing fields along the eastern wall of the grounds; of the car park / car wash; in short, kit and caboodle -- to nail the sons-of-guns who think they've found a safe spot to off-load? Thanks for whatever you can arrange.

So ventured to get some bulky items collected today and have to say the system is totally useless. You go onto a site and "list" your 10 items but you are only able to select pre-described items from a list so it affords you no flexibility whatsoever to list the 10 things you want collected. After my previous experience with this "service" I approached with caution and lo and behold they turned up today but left a few of the items - no explanation why, just some of the items taken some not. They left a couple of suitcases, a child's scooter and an old mop and took all the big stuff - chest of drawers etc.

Have emailed them so await their response as to why they didn't finish the job I paid for......

Wish that they wd put a camera in our front garden. Some *********************** goes to extraordinary lengths to hide a bag with KFC wrappings metro and other odd bits which animals scatter, right up past car, in shrubbery corner next to house in Marmora Rd. There is a council rubbish bin across the road and house rubbish bins nearby easier to access.

We have contacted the council on several occasions who tell us someone will call us back - HUH. then the polics who say it is a council matter so now back to the council again.

NB Don't bother to count the asterisks - I didn't!

Does anyone know how to contact this service?

Spent ages navigating the appalling website, filled out the form, paid the ?16.00 for elderly neighbour.

Supposed to hear within 24 hours. Three days later, no reply, no phone number and no response to email to Environmental services.

No wonder there is so much fly tipping.

Same problems here.

Took from 8th June till 15th August, several long-winded and fruitless phone calls dealing with ill-equipped and incompetent staff who appeared to change daily, and an email thread involving a mighty 29 exchanges, to get just one order through.

Southwark were very good though. They gave me my ?16 back - which took them only six weeks!
