Burglaries in Dulwich/East Dulwich

Hello,

I'm a producer at BBC London TV News looking at a story for tomorrow on burglaries, and how few arrests there are. I know Dulwich was recently highlighted in the papers as a hot spot in London for burglaries. I also live in the area so know there are plenty of victims.

Is there anyone who'd be happy to go on camera and talk about their experience tomorrow (Thursday 28th Jan)?

Please get in touch.

Thanks

True Dr de Soto, but there are a lot of reports on this forum about burglaries and I've spoken to people who feel that in East Dulwich it's also got "out of control" and that the area is being specifically targeted. I'm not covering the story today (a colleague may be), but will make sure a distinction is made about the two areas (although only separated by yards). Thanks

I thought SE21's Dulwich Park was viewed as a key benefit of living in ED.

Isn't this statement therefore akin to claiming Andy Murray is British when he wins, but Scottish when he loses?

:-p

I thought it was the other way round, Dulwich Picturehouse is a key benefit of living in Dulwich Village. Anyway, Dulwich Park separates us from that SE21 den of crime :-)

Peckham Rye Common and Peckham Rye Park partially in SE22 are more of a key benefit of living in ED though I guess it depends on which side of Lordship Lane you live.

Hi Gudi, as a reporter you probably know that the report highlighted that SE21 was an area with high claims on insurance policies for burglary and SE22 had an active forum where residents informed each other of burglaries.

You do understand that this does not equate to a 'hot spot'.

BBC - packed full of over-paid socialist luvvies who will retire on gold plated pensions. The Gruniads are saints by comparison - allbeit misguided, naive idealists, but well-intentioned.

As for Farage, he is the only one who says it like it is ... unlike the other politicians who are gutless wimps out to line their own nests.

Here here, Green Goose

and rabbitears I was commending Duvaller on the suggestion made to gudrun- do pardon me if i went off topic in my loathing of the Biased BC.

Anyway after being harassed by reporters some years ago I have seen them for what they are- they are not after the absolute truth if they can put some kind of sensationalist spin and political bias (if that's their particular bag), on it

Not that I particularly want to get involved with the above, but (deep breath) . . . having been the victim of a break in / car theft earlier last year while my pregnant wife and I slept upstairs, burglary in SE22 feels pretty "hot" to me.

Given the police's general lack of interest (even when the car / DNA evidence was found / obtained), it feels to me like something that would be worth commenting on . . .

This appears to make the case for having a whole-population DNA database. Certainly would make policing a whole lot easier.
