Recommended Posts

The Mobile Recycling Centre will again be at Sainsbury's Dog Kennel Hill, on Wed 1 Mar, between 10am and 1pm.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the last of the scheduled visits by the Mobile Recycling Centre for 2016/17 to this site. To find out where and when it will located from 1 April 2017, please visit http://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-centres/mobile-recycling-centre

The Mobile Recycling Centre is a FREE service, funded by the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), to make it easier for residents to recycle materials which cannot be collected as part of normal household recycling collections and accepts the following:

>Books

>Small electrical appliances

>Wood and timber

>Metal

>CDs/DVDs

>Clothes and shoes

>Printer cartridges

>Batteries

>Lightbulbs of any kind

Materials collected are brought to the Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility before being sent onto charities and reprocessors to be reused or recycled.

The Mobile Recycling Centre also dispenses single-use garden waste sacks and clear recycling sacks.

It DOES NOT accept general waste or standard household recycling (except cardboard)

    • Shifting focus slightly away from Sainsburys, for anyone who may do their shopping elsewhere we also have customer donation boxes at Lidl in Peckham and the M&S by East Dulwich Station.  If anyone knows of any other store locations that might be amenable to customer collection box (who don't already have one), please let us know, or if anyone might be up for organising a collection at work, at school, at your place of worship, or any one of a long list of other places in support of Albrighton Community Fridge, and you need some support in organising it, please get in touch.  It is a daily struggle to maintain a large enough food supply at the moment, so we are incredibly grateful for all support.
