Bat (swooping around Trossachs Rd)

I have been watching a bat swooping around feeding above my garden in trossachs rd around dusk.

Has anybody else seen one?

We have seen then for quite a few years on summer evenings in our garden as it starts to get dark .

They usually seem to be trying to catch moths .

I have occasionally seen one in the evenings (North Cross Road area).

The London Wildlife Trust (I think it is) do bat walks in Sydenham Woods if you are interested, and I think the Horniman may also sometimes have them.

There has been a bat walk in Ruskin Park at the end of August for the past few years. They're so much fun! Highly recommended for all ages.

I live top of Grove Lane and see bats flying past (very close too sometimes) my window, might be two of them unless they are circling my house! Nice to see in a city like ours!

I believe there is a bat roost in that disused railway tunnel in the woods (near to the entrance that is nearest the Wood House).

I'm near Trossachs and haven't seen a bat for years. Lucky you, I'd love to see them.

There are lots of bats along the railway line between East Dulwich and North Dulwich. They prefer 'tree highways' rather than open spaces to feed along. We did a bat walk in Green Dale fields and Dog Kennel Hill Wood a couple of years ago and the detector picked up common pipistrelle, soprano pipistrelle and noctule bats.

Where is Dog Kennel Hill Wood?

It's the wood above Sainsburys car park and next to the adventure playground. There's a small path that leads from it through to Green Dale fields.
