That's for that segment of the works along by Whateley Road. Another board had works by Goodrich Road on Monday.

I went on the P13 which has a completely different diversion route.

From Goose Green up East Dulwich Road, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill Road, Wood Vale, Melford Road to line of route towards Streatham.

Towards New Cross Gate, the bus serves the first bus stop on Underhill Road, then as above.

According to the info boards near Friern Road/LL junction it is going on until the 31 November...(is that akin to the 12th of Never?)

Yes agree better to walk, this evening traffic was building up from Goose green down to E Dulwich road and Peckham rye,if Iíd known how bad I would have just walked from goose green via Crystal Palace road to get to plough. In the morning getting to Peckham rye st is quicker maybe than East Dulwich or Denmark hill

It would be great if the contractors could remove the warning signs rather than dump them over the railings and in Goose Green itself. (Perhaps they will once the whole works have finished)

A P13 bus driver told my wife the diversion was ending in 2 days this evening, it seems nobody has a real clue what is going on.

The amount of roadworks that get repeated within ever decreasing periods of time is getting ridiculous on LL in recent years!

All clear tonight maybe itís finished fingers x. Someone told me rye lane is due to be closed off January!

Wonder Woman, there is a thread about the Rye Lane work due to take 60 weeks!I think the buses on LL run between 6 pm and 7 am.

We've asked TFL Buses about the lack of information about the diversion over Twitter. At first they said that there were notices on the stops, but not they say they're going to investigate.

Please feel free to add your complaint to this thread, here: [twitter.com]

There are cones and no parking signs at the Goose Green end of LL in preparation for work, so I don't think today will be the last day of the diversion.

Update from one of the workers....

The work over this side of the lane has now finished
Work begins from frogley rd to the roundabout from tomorrow night, lasting for two nights.

🙄🙄🙄🙄

I can't see that's the last of it!!!

Does that mean LL will be open during the day as works start from tomorrow evening lasting 2 nights?

Are there any buses using LL during the day now

Will buses be running through Lordship Lane on Saturday? I have a visitor hoping to get the 185 from Victoria to Wood Vale stop.

They'll still be able to get to the Wood Vale stop as buses have been running along LL between Dulwich Library and Wood Vale.

In any case, it appears the final part of the resurfacing is going to be overnight work, which will allow buses to run along LL during daytime hours instead on Friday and Saturday.

Thanks. That puts my mind at ease!

I'm not on Twitter unfortunately but can someone point out the signs on the bus stops say buses resume after 5pm. This has clearly not been the case the last 2 nights I worked and finished after 8pm!

Are buses running up Lordship Lane today?

Is the P13 on its usual route again now?

Nightmare getting into town yesterday lunchtime with 12 terminating at Lambeth North, changing buses to find out the far side of the bridge by Parliament Sqaure was all closed off to traffic as it's being dug up and no buses running along Whitehall.

Tried to get a 176 from the Strand back to East Dulwich, had to give up and go further into town to pick up a bus to get back into south east London. So much for bus drivers communicating, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what was planned to be a quick trip to pick an item up took a heck of a lot longer. Now I know why I hate travelling into central London.

dbboy, I got caught out that way a couple of weeks ago. The 12 stopped for no obvious reason a couple of stops past the IWM. We all got on another bus which was on diversion for the reasons you state but we werenít told anything so the bus stopped at St Thomasís, got stuck in traffic on the Embankment and didnít stop again until Piccadilly. It took an hour and 50 minutes to get from the IWM to Trafalgar Square!

I assumed they were resurfacing the whole of LL but I noticed today that the section from the cinema to Woodfalls hasnít been done.

Nor between Barry Road and just before Friern Road. There's also a section between Melford Road and Dulwich Common owned by TfL which hasn't been done either.

Singalto.. Yes I saw that. It makes me livid. They resurface in completely illogical, sectioned ways that must be extraordinarily expensive and causes unnecessary inconvenience. Each time having to close down substantial parts of the area, advance prep the site, suspend bays, bring in plant etc. In the last 3 years, one job was Grove Vale, but not including GG which was merely patch repaired but at a separate time. Which itself was separate from ED Rd, itself separate from the Worlingham Rd job. And then there was the quarter million NX Rd entrance fiasco when they just did about 50m of LL and then finally what they did in the last week. The section of LL remaining is in just as bad shape as what was renewed. The cost of restarting the site (as inevitably they will have to soon) will be eye-watering compared to doing the lot in one.

And in all of this they still haven't done a bloody thing to sort out the EDGrove/LL junction which remains incredibly dangerous for pedestrians.

If anyone can explain the council's logic unless it is to get the poorest value for money from our taxes, I'm all ears.

See attached notification from Southwark Council back in October.
There was no indication the whole of Lordship Lane was going to be resurfaced.

Kalamitikel, I hadnít seen that before. It just seems odd to cause so much disruption and not do the whole thing. The bit of LL from the cinema to Woodfalls is not in great condition. They did that in my road a few years ago: just resurfaced half of it. The next day, a utility company dug part of the new surface up! I couldnít believe my eyes! The second half of the road was redone a few years later!

I live on part of the resurfaced road and didn't get any letters.

EAst Dulwich bingo. But do you live in a proposed CPZ?

messageRe: No buses running through lordship lane
Posted by KalamityKel 05 December, 2018 07:08

It's interesting those in the sections that were resurfaced didn't get letters. I'm in the bit that didn't have any work done as was notified...

Not quite sure what your reference to any proposed CPZ is all about nxjen mind.
