Xmas presents for local children in poverty

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of any means of getting Christmas presents to local children who might otherwise go without? I know in some towns they have Christmas trees with wish lists in shopping centres, where local children can request presents.

Failing that, I guess the Copleston Centre would accept gifts?

I really want to do this as well, my work used to run a scheme for tower hamlets kids where John Lewis has a gift list.

Does anyone know of anything like this you can do rather than having to take them somewhere? Or else something that has a super local to Se22 drop off point? Its just a pain dragging the kids along but I know I?m being a bit lazy. I was wondering today if the church at Barry Road May need presents?

At my work we wrapped 40 empty shoe boxes in Xmas paper, and filled each box with gifts (toys, clothes, stationary, books etc.) We then delivered them to the Camden Home Start branch as that was the branch closest to work. They wanted everything in boxes so that they could easily open up the presents to check what was in there.

Home Start Southwark is based in the Albrighton Centre - May be worth it to contact them to see if they also accept and distribute Xmas presents?

    • Do also remember that, whilst this is the original there is an unrelated FB presence with a (very) similar name, which might also be prayed in aid.
    • Yet another increase, its absolutely disgusting. I was charged £7.95 to send documents recorded delivery last week. I asked for the Signed for option that only costs £2.50 but the Post Office refused & said they would only send them recorded delivery.
    • Thanks Admin for clarifying - I’ve now found the post they used to scrape my telephone number from. So it wasn’t a data breach from EDF, rather my foolishness posting it online 15 years ago…    Still leaving this thread here if that’s ok so that people are aware of this scam and don’t fall foul of it (also to think twice before posting phone numbers here as it can be used by any one as I’ve found out!)
    • There is deliberately nowhere to enter your phone number, name, address etc anywhere when registering an account on this forum. There never has been. There is no way to attach this sort of personal information to your account.  If someone says that EDF has given your phone number, then this is a lie. No personal information is sold to any third party and it is not collected in the first place.
