messageNo water Underhill Rd (Horniman end) - anyone else affected?
Posted by IlonaM February 04, 09:44AM

Just turned on cold water taps and I have no water. Is anyone else affected?

Us too - judging by twitter a massive burst water main between Grove and Horniman - the one that is constantly getting fixed. I hope not off too long - have tweeted Thames Water seems to be the best way of getting a response in previous instances.

Thanks for that. I will report as well.

- Recorded messsage on phone call following confirmation of postcode - TW aware of problem in area and team currently onsite investigating. Maybe experiencing low pressure/no water.

By the time you get to Langton Rise ('East' side) the pressure is fine - I think that's served by the main running in Wood Vale.

No water on the Lordship Lane Estate.

Thames Water posted a message on their website that they're on their way with their specialist engineers.

The burst water main is on LL just before High Wood Cadet Centre. The bus stops are also closed.

They just posted an estimated 4 hour fix time from 15.00...

SE22 - We're working hard in your area
Last updated 4th Febuary, 2019 - 15:00pm.

We've found a burst pipe in Lordship Lane.

A burst pipe is causing low water pressure and no water in SE22. Our specialist engineers are now working hard to fix this a quickly as possible, which we estimate will take around 4 hours.

We've also put together some practical advice to help you understand the problem:

What causes burst pipes (http://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/cold-weather/why-our-pipes-burst)
What to do if your pipes freeze (http://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/cold-weather/what-to-do-if-pipes-freeze)
how can you protect your home if your area is affected (http://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/cold-weather/prepare-your-home)

We'll be posting updates here, so check back when you can for the latest news.

There was a bad leak there last week which took several days to come out and fix. I hope this repair lasts a bit longer.

We passed the site at 1550 and there were 2 Thames Water Vans with men inside - one looked like he was fast asleep at the wheel. British Engineering at its best.

I reported that leak at the Northcrofts houses four days in a row (about two weeks ago) before they came out to do what they described as a temporary fix. I wonder if this is related to that. Either way, they were really slow to deal with it and it was only when I sent them a video of water pouring down the hill that they swung into action. Sigh.

We're still on the case in SE22.

Our specialist team are working hard to fix the issue with low pressure and no water in Lordship Lane, but the complexity of the network is making it tricky.

We estimate the fix will take a bit longer than usual, but we hope to be finished around 21:30pm. We understand how disruptive this must be, so we're very sorry for the delay.

We'll keep posting updates here, so check back when you can for more news.

No water top of Upland Road. Since 2010 this has been happening once a year. Goodrich primary likely to be closed if no water returning by tomorrow morning.

Siduhe - I also reported when crossing the road became a stream! I wish there was a 'current' location option for reporting leaks - so much easier than trying to work out street numbers/postcodes.

Doesn't surprise me that it's taking longer than estimated; looking at the Twitter video from earlier there seemed to be a fair mess - bubbling up through the slabs on the opposite side etc.

Thames Water have an 8 week programme of work scheduled to start around here in mid-Feb to put in plastic pipes. Let's hope this stops this happening quite so frequently.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the burst water main that was further up the road opposite Wood Vale has now moved further down the road.

It seems to be a think with water leaks, plug one up and then the issue moves further along.

Also the weather has been 'milder' today than over the last few days, which can cause issues.

I'm hearing gurgling and the cistern seems to be filling up - touch wood things are finally getting sorted out and we'll have water up and unning again soon!

Water is back here. Pressure is low, but usable.

I have water tonight despite the road closure though still not sure I'll risk a washing load!

I do wonder if there's any scope to bring the permanent works that are due to start on 16 Feb forward rather than do yet another temporary repair.

Thames Water say the leak has been fixed, but the road remains closed until the road surface has been relaid.

Thanks for the update. Given it is a red route and the South Circ, wonder if theyll rush it overnight or wait til morning. Might set the alarm a little earlier just in case.

The pipes burst open - after it's been fixed - and the water is flowing down LL again.

Buses now on diversion until Sunday evening.

LORDSHIP LANE, SE22: Routes 176 185 and 197 are diverted until 2000 Sunday 10 February via Barry Road, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill Road and Honor Oak Road due to emergency waterworks on Lordship Lane, and buses are unable to serve stops between Dulwich Library and Horniman Museum.
