Snow men in Dulwich Park

Recommended Posts

I saw some great snowmen in Dulwich Park, but my favourite memory from today was watching a family in the playground. They had some of those plastic mini shovels (I only know them as Ki-gliss's). They were using them on the slide and because they were using these little "sledges", they were whizzing off the slide and through the snow. Much laughter and screaming ensued - very sweet.

And the entrance was carefully boarded up too.

I trust not too many forumites lost in snow drifts. Tomorrow a greater danger, boredom, may begin to show. Perhaps there'll be even more walkers into work. I came across this btw, from Paul Terry, in a uk.transport.london thread today:

"My grandfather, who was station master at Monument, once walked 15 miles to work in one of the

impenetrable smogs of the 1950s - he got up at midnight and left home before 1am, and was only a

little late in opening up the station soon after 6am - I always remember him complaining that he had

to walk slowly because visibility was down to three feet in places."

Honk, I am beginning to think you are like a car alarm. Initially you think - Oh, that's something I might need to pay attention to. But then as the same note goes on and on, you realise it's just noise and you wish it would stop.

I'm surprised you can hear it over the hum of self-contentedness.
