Exposed to on Peckham Rye Common

Recommended Posts

Ok, I know I make suggestive remarks on here,(sorry) however, I am serious now. Just to say, I was exposed to on Peckham Rye Common whilst walking the dog at lunch time. 1.30.pm. It was along the wooded path. 3 Indian boys in school uniform, grey trousers, white shirt, black and red stripe ties, 15 or 16 years old approached me. One was exremely cocky (excuse the pun), and intimidating, made a bee line and exposed himself right in front of me, aroused . I was shocked, so I laughed and said 'oh behave youself' which he seemed to take as encouragment and started to follow me. So I ran. I saw 2 women on their own about to walk through the wooded path and told them to stay clear. Im telling it here as teenage girls from the nearby school walk through the park , so they need to be on their guard. Im a bit worried they may do something next time. I reported it any way.

Yes, I didnt know if i should report it or not at first, because they were in school uniform, and then I thought, well, there are 3 of them and they were'nt small, say if they got a young girl alone in the wooded bit, id feel really bad.

That's horrible. last night at about 11pm two indian boys passed me on the corner of Crystal Palace road (Goose Green end). As I got past them they started saying quite suggestive things and were very leary - then they turned around and followed me (although not very quickly.) shouting 'oi come back' I didn't have far to go so got to the house quite quickly and they disappeared. Probably not linked at all but they were around the same age and I did feel a bit intimidated. (I have no idea about schools in the area..but maybe theirs can be identified by the tie, perhaps they should know? I'm sure the police will sort that.)

You should put this on main ed matters and family matters of forum at once.

Exposing himself like that is a sex crime and to do it in front of his mates shows a level of pathology-and group pathology at that-it's not at all the same as mooning or larking about, it requires a level of sexual arousal to a pedestrian stimulus. His youth makes no difference, in fact makes it creepier.

Sounds like it could well be the same guys as on crystal palace road- how likely is it to get two groups of sexual harrassers in such a small area and small time scale.

As you say, it could be a whole different incident if young schoolgirls were approached.

Everyone should be warned so that next time they will be met with an aggressive take-no-prisoners response.

Friends of Peckham Rye and the rangers office/wardens should all be informed.

It should be treated extremely seriously.

I hope I dont meet them with my dog. He doesnt have a very good attitude towards things that stick out where they shouldnt.

Are you worried it's your willy, Willy?

It sounds like some boys who were just being silly and didn't think how scary it could potentially be for the other person. Hopefully the police will be able to get in touch with the school and sort it all out.

maintaining a hard-on in the presence of a clearly discomforted adult isnt being 'just silly'. To be turned on by somebody else's fear is not high jinx and takes a certain mind set. If it was not aroused that's something else. But this knob was on bonk as one used to say.

Sophie you might be right, they might have just wanted a reaction. i hope so. I did weigh up wether to report it or not. If they'd been giggly and childish id have dismissed it. There was nothing child like about him apart from the uniform. I was a third the way down the path when they turned into the exit, so around 10 to 20 paces away from me, aroused. He must have already been like that and on the look out for someone to shock, maybe. I tried to walk off to the right and he stood in my way. When i laughed and tried to be casual saying 'oh behave yourself' it didnt deter him, in fact he started to follow me, thats when i freaked a bit and ran. I could just envisage a younger girl being perfect material for them. To be that arrogant and intimidating at 15/16 isnt right.

please put a link for this to the rest of the forum.

The people who this could affect don't often come down to this bit of the forum.

three boys= one unsuspecting schoolgirl walking through woods on another occasion= predatory situation.

lots of wooded bits to drag someone off the path into.

Its a route home used by lots of children and young girls.

It's the arrogance of it that sends alarm bells ringing.

Serious criminal behaviour starts with such small steps.

If anyone encounters these boys be prepared to dial 999 on your mobile and to implement a citizens arrest if you are up to it.

If this was an older man and the victim a young girl, people wouldnt hesitate to see the seriousness of it.

can the administrator move it to general issues to warn people?

What a scary experience. You could have come to serious harm. They were a pack. Anybody who says don't worry about it is more bonkers than the perpetrator. It is a crime and the police now take things like that more seriously than they used to. Something similar happened to me once, a few years ago, in a woods (not Peckham Rye Park), but it was one person only. I didn't have my mobile with me. I found a woman who did and she called the police and within about 5 minutes there were loads of cops and a helicopter circling overhead. Sadly they didn't catch him. I believe it is now thought that flashers can go on to commit more serious sexual crimes.

seems Le Chardon, Somerfield and the annoyance of early morning bin men are more important general ED topics then, than sleezy schoolboys lurking in the undergrowth while your children's school sports activities and picnics are going on yards away, if this is still in the Lounge?

    • Plenty for sale online from various ticket vendors but you'll need to part with £250 and upwards by the looks of it. Out of interest i kept an eye on the prices for the England and Italy Euro final. At one point they were on offer for a couple of grand each. On the day sellers were obviously getting itchy feet and prices dropped somewhat but never went any lower than £400. That was a few hours before kick off. There was plenty still available half an hour before kick off.   Having been to Wembley a couple of times for play off finals i found it to be not a great place to watch football. Sat three rows back from the pitch side advertising hoardings for one game and way way up in the gods for the other. We felt to far away from the pitch on both occasions. Up in the goods was just stupid because we felt cut off as well.  I don't think it was rebuilt with acoustics in mind either. Even with most of our 25k fans singing it never sounded loud because it's pretty much uncovered and too open.   Happy hunting!
    • It doesn't work as a commercial venture.  Bit churlish to say I told you so.  I told you so.  I'll send less greetings cards.  What pees me off is international postage where you can no longer send light letters at 10 grammes, normal ones up to 20g, now all at the much more expensive 100 g  Didn't we vote to take back control and price everything according to irrational units like ounces? That's some obscure humour btw
    • Available from Monday April 8th 2024, 2on2Walkies take pride in doggie care and only walk 2 furry friends at a time. I make sure that they get plenty of doggie interaction and socialisation in the park as well as making friends. Back home happy and tired I always check that the water bowl has fresh water and always make sure the doggie is left comfortable before I leave. I'm fully insured and have a couple of slots available for local walks to either Peckham Rye Park or Dulwich Park.  Thank you!
    • Why would they only send them recorded delivery? I used the signed for option yesterday.
