Phase 2 of the East London Line extension

It won't connect with HOP, it's not really an "extention of the ELL", it's just another branch of the London Overground network. It'll go from Clapham, through Denmark Hill / Peckham, on to Surrey Quays (where you could catch one to HOP).

I was in the pub with some engineers types a month or so back and they said they were bidding to do the work and that it was going ahead. Apparently most of it is already in place so it is not a big or expensive thing to do.

So will they be replacing the LB - Victoria service with another service which goes through DH to Victoria?

There have been proposals to add an additional service from Victoria to Bellingham which was scrapped. So they'll be 2tph provided by Southeastern to Victoria as now from PR and DH as well as the 2tph to Kentish Town (extended to Bedford in peaks) via Elephant and the 4tph to Clapham and Dalston.

Once the Southern service closes in 2012, passengers from DH will either have to change at Peckham Rye for LB or Canada Water via the Jubilee Line.
