Bollards

Anyone know anything about the brightly coloured bollards on the co-op corner of the Rye/ start of Forest Hill Road.

I think they've been put there in a hopeless attempt to draw the eye away from the assortment of wheeled metal cages and stacks of damp cardboard that usually decorate the entrance.

I read somewhere that its part of some "Southwark Mural" project. I noticed today that already someone has ruined the mural painted on the wall behind the bus stop. I was surprised at how angry that made me, seems no matter how hard people try to make things nice other people just want to ruin it.

I like the painted bollards. Not quite the same class as the bespoke Bellenden Road business, but I like to think that someone has enjoyed brightening up this street furniture as much as I have enjoyed seeing their gradual transformation on my walks to the park.
