Cooperative House, Peckham Rye

Yes I mentioned this probably getting on for a year ago, rumours were bound that M&S Simply Food had bought the lease on two of the large retail units, but I have heard of nothing since and all info I got from M&S themselves was "no plans for any new stores in SE15/SE22", so who knows? Maybe another butcher or smelly fishmonger judging by the standard of Rye Lane? LOL

I have a friend who has a flat there and they've been told that there may possibly be a wine bar downstairs. As it's flats I doubt they will be having too many food outlets or pubs so it doesn't upset the residents. What's not so good is the solicitors that's opened up across the road, the bright white light coming from their sign is really bright so I can imagine the people on the first couple of floors opposite aren't too chuffed.

I don't know if there is another thread relating to this that i have missed, but for those still interested, tesco have moved in to set up in this unit today. I was told by a chap working there that it should be open in 8weeks time.

    • I'm looking for a guitar teacher for my 17 year old son. In terms of music that he likes, he says he's interested in learning fingerpicking (although I guess he needs to learn the basics first!). He listens to quite a lot of acoustic guitar stuff as well as indie stuff, has a curious interest in Japanese pop and loves folk too. Ideally we would be looking for someone who could do one-to-one lessons at my flat, which is 5 minutes walk from Honor Oak tube station.
    • Enforcement for both drivers and cyclists low priority for the police and our local politicians. Not my decision.  I'd happily make those that don't know or bother with mirror signal manoeuvre, or cut corners, resit their test, but that would be 90 percent of drivers so would overwhelmed the system and lead to civil unrest.  A more straightforward response would be to put the car in a crusher but that would be even less popular.  I'll consult the old testament to see what else could be done
    • The rubbish in Sainsbury's bags is from a house across the road, this is considered fly-tipping, have other photos with garden rubbish, paint bucket and BBQ, this has been happening for a long time!
    • I've seen many wild life programmes and clips where ducklings are released into ponds or lakes and other ducks will take them on as their own and care for them
