We know term has barely started, but if you're thinking ahead to the October half term, booking is open now for the Nimble Arts Holiday Club, held at Heber Primary School!

Each day we'll explore a different art-form with the help of visiting professional artists and practitioners, and the Nimble Arts team. We're a locally based community arts organising, run by local musicians and teachers Becky and Catherine - have a dig around on the forum for recommendations from past participants, and check out our website at www.nimblearts.co.uk (photos from our summer sessions coming on there soon).

As we've had a fair waiting list for most days over the summer, we've slightly increased capacity, and are also offering specially planned half day sessions for four year olds. We'd advise booking soon to guarantee your place, particularly if you're interested in any of the mid-week days, which tend to fill up slightly more quickly.

We also have a team of brilliant Nimble Assistants, all CRB or DBS checked, with bundles of experience of working with children and young people. We always have a ratio of at 1:8 adults to children (although often this is a lot less when we also have all workshop leaders involved, and particularly with the younger kids).

Crikey, somehow it's just two weeks to go, and we've not many spaces remaining! I'll also edit the last post with some details and links to our leaders, artists and wonderful Nimble team members, and, at the moment, spaces remaining are....

Monday: Arts and Crafts - c. 8 full days spaces, c. 10 half days

Tuesday: Drama - c. 12 spaces left across ages

Wednesday: Creative writing: c. 9 full days, c. 10 half days

Thursday: Sound and Music: c. 12 full days, c. 6 half days

Friday: Film making: c. 8 full days, c. 6 half days

We're expecting we might be full, although if there are still spaces available during the week itself and you're feeling spontaneous, you're welcome to try!

*****************************************************

Here's just some of the feedback we've had from previous half term holiday clubs:

?Thanks so much for last Tuesday?s band workshop. Evie enjoyed it so much and can?t stop talking about it.? Ian, Parent

?Just thought I?d pass on that D said today was fantastic ? and the best day of her half term by some way!? Emma, Parent

?As a granny responsible for some fetching and taking of two participants, I just wanted to say how impressed I was by the teachers running the course. They were so gentle, friendly and positive and understood brilliantly my rather quirky 8-year-old grand-daughter. How wonderful if all primary school teachers could be like them!? Brigid, Grandparent

?they also loved the band who came in on Tuesday, it?s really the best holiday club they?ve ever been to!? Parent

Via Twitter: ?I love Nimble Arts, it?s the best holiday club in the area by far!? #eastdulwich

From the East Dulwich Forum: ?It?s really very good ? they do absolutely loads and it?s very creative and fun.?

    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case 🤔
    • Crikey. How did you know it was Immigration Enforcement?
    • Saying cyclists are the most antisocial people in London isn't helpful.  Nor is the Standard referring to cyclists as lycra clad louts  Yes we can have an adult conversation.  But emotive knee jerk nonsense is not going to achieve this and just plays into the hands of those wanting a manufactured culture war
