social cycle ride 10am Saturday May 6th

Recommended Posts

We are doing the Dulwich to Crystal Palace Loop, starting and finishing at the Pavilion Cafe in the middle of Dulwich Park.

It's the usual gentle ride but a bit shorter than usual because there are a few hills :). The route goes outwards via the Horniman Museum where there will be a brief stop and then through Sydenham Wells Park and into Crystal Palace Park through the small gate off Crystal Palace Park Road.

Next down to the lake to admire the dinosaurs and then up through the park and along the terraces (great views to south), eventually arriving at Crystal Palace Parade. Downhill all the way via Farquhar Rd, past Kingsdale School and on to Bel Air Park. Quick circuit of Bel Air then back to Dulwich Park.

The route is here https://goo.gl/z4Wft7. We last did this route in August 2016, and there's a report here: http://healthyrider.weebly.com/healthy-ride-reports-aug-sept-2016.html. Ride reports, photos and routes from earlier this year are posted at http://healthyrider.weebly.com/healthy-ride-reports-april-may-2017.html so if you can't come on Saturdays but would like to try them all the info is there. There are several photos from the last ride to Cody Dock

All our rides and others across London are advertised on the London Cycling Campaign website here: http://lcc.org.uk/events and Southwark Cyclists is their borough group https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk

    • Shifting focus slightly away from Sainsburys, for anyone who may do their shopping elsewhere we also have customer donation boxes at Lidl in Peckham and the M&S by East Dulwich Station.  If anyone knows of any other store locations that might be amenable to customer collection box (who don't already have one), please let us know, or if anyone might be up for organising a collection at work, at school, at your place of worship, or any one of a long list of other places in support of Albrighton Community Fridge, and you need some support in organising it, please get in touch.  It is a daily struggle to maintain a large enough food supply at the moment, so we are incredibly grateful for all support.
