Recommended Posts

Come and join textile designer and screen printer Sarah Capel at the lovely Space at 61 in Nunhead on Thursday 25 May to create your own lampshade to take home.

Location: Space at 61, 61 Cheltenham Road, Nunhead, London SE15 3AF

Arrival: Please arrive from 7.15pm for the workshop to begin at 7.30pm. The workshop will finish at 9.30pm.

About Sarah and the workshop:

Sarah Capel designs and hand prints original textiles which she then makes into products for the home including cushions and lampshades. Sarah prints on natural linen with eco-friendly inks. Her designs have been featured in YOU! Magazine, Period Living, and House Beautiful magazines so far this year.

Sarah will talk through and demonstrate making a small drum lampshade (20cm diameter) before helping you make your own. Sarah will also give you tips on styling your shades at home. The number of participants is limited to 6 to ensure Sarah has time to help you all individually.

If you would like to make a medium shade (30cm diameter) then please scroll down to the related products below and add this upgrade to your cart.

During the workshop you will be able to select from a range of Sarah's hand printed linen fabric to use on your lampshade. This will include exclusive colour-ways.

This is a great event to come along to alone or with a friend; there will be a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of time to have a chat and a drink.

What's included in your ticket?

All materials for making a small drum lampshade and a glass or two of bubbly.

    • Labour are proposing to nationalise the railways, (passenger trains but not fright)  Whilst it removes them from shareholders control, and potential profit chasing, is it workable or will it end up costing tax payers more in the long run?  On paper the idea is interesting but does it also need the profitable freight arm included to help reduce fares,?
    • Another recommendation here for Jason.  He came to plaster over a section of ceiling that we had to remove in order to investigate a leak.  He is a really lovely guy, easy to get in touch with and great communication.  He was quick, tidy and competitively priced.  Very happy and I'd have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
