Crystal Palace International Film Festival

Boxer turned Actor/Director Gary Stretch gives CPIFF Ronda Rousey Doc WORLD Exclusive

Boxer turned actor Gary Stretch flies in from L.A. for Crystal Palace International Film Festival. This is the European premiere of his documentary ?Through My Father?s Eyes ? The Ronda Rousey Story? about the UFC champion. It will also be its one and only screening before the doc goes on pay per view next year and Gary will be holding an extended Q & A on the night.

He also brings with him Super producer singer Damon Elliott (Dionne Warwick's son) who will perform songs oin the 18thj and at the finale.

Having lived in Hollywood for 25 years, notably, Gary starred in Shane Meadow?s ?Dead Man?s shoes? playing the chilling villain and in Oliver Stone?s ?Alexander?. The highlight of his boxing career was no less than a world title fight versus Chris Eubank.

His documentary is the incredibly moving and inspiring story about the first ever, female, UFC Mixed Martial Arts champion, Ronda Rousey. It documents her rise from nowhere to glory and how she overcame adversity whilst staying connected and human.

Having produced and directed this thoroughly engaging documentary, Gary has chosen CPIFF for its only festival screening. It is anticipated to be a sell out.

Now one of South London?s premiere events, obviously this is not the only gem CPIFF has on offer. Also, at the finale, President of Decca Records, Rebecca Allen, will present the CPIFF Award for Best Music Video, sponsored by Decca. CPIFF 2017 has 15 days of screenings between Friday 27th October and Saturday 18th November. The Awards Finale, Animation night (Sat 4th Nov) and Horror/Sci-Fi night (Sat 28th in a Gothic Church) sell out fast every year. Book early before other nights sell out at CPIFF.co.uk.

Only the VERY BEST FILMS are screened, chosen from hundreds sent in from around the world. Every night is held in a funky venue with amazing food and drink on offer.

Filmmakers fly in from across the globe to hold Q & As at their screenings and will be available to chat to an eager audience.

Each evening is one to savour and remember. No wonder seasoned festival goers say CPIFF is the best and coolest. Mike Reiss, writer of The Simpsons since it began, said: "You run the very best film festival we've ever been to - and we've been to a lot!"

Short Film, Features, Horror/Sci-Fi, Animation, Documentary, Comedy...it's all here.

We have a unique and beautifully shot Italian film called ?Lovers? on Sun 12th Nov at Stanley Halls telling 4 engaging stories starring the same actors. A horror film that will make anyone jump, on Sat 11th Nov at The Lakeside Pavilion. Plus short films galore curated in just right way to enthrall.
