Ride the route of the lost River Effra

This ride starts and finishes at Dulwich Clock Cafe in Dulwich Park SE21 7BQ. It's the usual two-hour easy-paced ride open to all and ends at 12 noon back at the cafe.

The route is designed to show that you can have a non-hilly ride from Dulwich! Wikipaedia thinks that the Effra was fed by springs in Dulwich coming together in Brixton and flowing into the Thames. The Effra itself is culverted for most of its course and the contours of the Effra were used in the Victorian era for a combined sewer draining much of the historic area of Peckham and Brixton

Riders will go out via Brockwell Park and Brixton and then back through Kennington Park and Myatts Fields. If there is time we will have a peep at the new US Embassy on Nine Elms Road.
