Easy-paced flat ride with a Charlie Chaplin theme. Charlie was born and brought up in South London so a 2 hour ride from Peckham can include his birthplace and many places he lived in while growing up, including the Lambeth Workhouse. His mother took her family to the workhouse twice and Chaplin was sent to a school for destitute children.

Eventually his life got better. He went to Hollywood, married four times and had eleven children, received numerous honours. Details of the route and (briefly) his later life are attached.

The ride starts from Peckham Square (SE15 5JR 122 Peckham Hill Street) at 10am and ends in the same place at 12 noon. The route map is here: www.mapmyride.com/workout/2508868517. Harry will be leading. These rides are organised by Bruce Lynn and friends on behalf of Southwark Cyclists. We are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign. Everything we do is free and you don't pay anything on the day or any other time. The only rule is that children must bring an adult with them. Preferably a responsible one but any one will do.

Our website is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk. The LCC website is here: https://lcc.org.uk//. The weather forecast is cloud but no rain and a bit warmer. Though that can change.
