How do you delete a thread that you've started?

I posted a couple of ads offering free furniture; the items have been taken but I'm still getting responses.

Just Edit the Thread and edit the Title Heading to say ***SOLD***

Go to your Advert at botton you will find Edit, click on this, place your cursor behind last letter of advert, tap Backspace to remove each letter,of the advert at this stage yoiu can type item now gone.
