marigolds
Bought some great bread today at reasonable price from Peckham Cart Project which is sited between a bra stall and a threading stall in the Aylesham Shopping Centre - not what you'd expect, think it used to be a candy floss stall.Bread is delicious. Stall is run as a social enterprise project in partnership with Flour City Bakery generating revenue for the Southwark Refuge and Migrant Project. The man I spoke to was very knowledgable and clearly passionate about his product. Recommend.
maxxi
That's probably Manuel (Frenchman? Glasses?), one of the chief bakers at FP bakery; love their bread, especially the dark Baltik loaf and the rye sourdough. They're there (usually him or his son) Wed-Sat and are hoping to open up in the nearby restaurant/caf? unit and also teach baking.http://www.flourpowercity.co.uk/bakery/bakers/
Mustard
Do they sell the same loaves all the time?
maxxi
Different selection every day - usually alongside a couple of standards like granary/rye but they make such a range of breads it'd be hard to get them all on that little cart. I quite like that though - never sure what bread I'm going to buy until I get there and have ended up trying something I may not otherwise have bought - e.g. they had potato bread and rosemary bread on Friday. Mustard
Thanks, I do like Flour Power's bread, first encountered it at Borough Market. If you like rye and pumpernickel bread, check out Karaway bread stall at Borough.
Mustard
They had some delicious focaccia the other day. I also tried a rye bread with raisins, wasn't so keen on that. It had too many raisins in it for my taste, and I like raisin and cinnamon bread.

Peckhamgatecrasher
I've had some yummy bread from that stall, but I'm slightly put off by the threading and the thought of some random stranger's eyebrow hair. Not quite sure why you would sit in a public place to have that done, but maybe I'm a prude.
Mustard
I didn't even notice the threading stall! I don't think eyebrows would fly very far though,
