Radiation

The National Radiological Board, now part of Public Health England, are responsible for advising on both ionising and non-ionising radiation. No worries. Ionising radiation is the nuclear stuff, non-ionising = mobile phones, electricity pylons, microwaves and the like,

Old style cathode ray tubes could emit x-rays very weakly which had a short range caused by the sudden deceleration of the electron beam as the electrons struck the phosphorus. No such worries now. I used to put aluminium foil on the front of the screen to watch the sparks and enjoy the ozone. I got over it eventually.
