Craft butter

I understand that Herne Hill Farmers Market now has organic buffalo butter, they keep the animials in a paddock in Brockwell park and you are allowed to hand milk them and churn your own product. Absolute delish. There are plans to introduce alpacas next.

I really want some craft butter - are the butters in the General Store and Mons crafted or manufactured butters?

Yes- it was the first science experiment I was set. We were given a small glass bottle with a screw top to take home and told to put milk in it and shake it...it works!

Gentle fun, not malicious - I leave that to others. You can get buffalo butter, not sure about alpaca though. I expect a hand churned product is very expensive, You'll probably get it in an agritourism type place in Italy, Croatia and the like. I miss the tart yogurt of my childhood - commercially produced but very different. Returning to Brockwell Park there is of course the country fair, https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/events/lambeth-country-show

Good to get away from Brexit for a few moments.

I don't tend to go out of ED much, though I did go to a 50th birthday party just over the hill in Sydenham last Saturday!

I think the major brand of hand churned butter available is called "Crafty Nutter"....but its only available from 100% plastic free vendors...so you have to take a scoop home in your hands....

Where can you get the vegan craft butter? I presume they use almond or soya butter?

1p from every tub of craft butter sold at my local organic, gluten free farmers market stall, goes to help weave new sleeping bags out of leftover artisan loaves for the homeless to use.

so I feel good.

The sleeping bags made out of artisan loaves. Very interesting. 5 loaves - was there any fish involved?

    • Yet another increase, its absolutely disgusting. I was charged £7.95 to send documents recorded delivery last week. I asked for the Signed for option that only costs £2.50 but the Post Office refused & said they would only send them recorded delivery.
    • Thanks Admin for clarifying - I’ve now found the post they used to scrape my telephone number from. So it wasn’t a data breach from EDF, rather my foolishness posting it online 15 years ago…    Still leaving this thread here if that’s ok so that people are aware of this scam and don’t fall foul of it (also to think twice before posting phone numbers here as it can be used by any one as I’ve found out!)
    • There is deliberately nowhere to enter your phone number, name, address etc anywhere when registering an account on this forum. There never has been. There is no way to attach this sort of personal information to your account.  If someone says that EDF has given your phone number, then this is a lie. No personal information is sold to any third party and it is not collected in the first place.
