Postal vote deadline for EU elections

Hello,

Anyone know why the deadline is the 8th May, as opposed to the 11 days stated on the form you fill in to register to postal vote? Am I missing something?

First time I?ve needed to register to postal vote but thought I had until 12th. Helpfully polling card stating 8th arrived after deadline.

I have written to relevant dept at council but genuinely wondering if I?ve missed something obvious.

If you look at the attached application form it says:

"You must return your postal vote application form by 5pm, 11 working days before the poll"

So why does the polling card say deadline is 5pm on 8th?

Because that's 11 working days* before polling day...

^Working days don't include weekends
