I posted a while ago and asked for tips to combat high pressure readings. The solution (bleeding radiator) does work but I seem to be trapped now in a pattern of too high/low.

I'm guessing a service is in order but has anyone any tips for keeping a boiler pressure happy?

It's put on in the morning and turned off/low for the day until the evening when it's turned up.

Sounds like a leak in the system - probably concealed and out of view. Water coming out and air coming in. Anyway don't listen to my advice Siousxie, you just need a good local plumber!

Check the expansion vessel pressure and top up if required.
(The check should be part of the service procedure)

For more info, Google - central heating expansion vessel pressure

My Vaillant Boiler developed a Fault where the pressure reached 2.6 Bar
normally would be 1.5 - 1.6 when on Max temp.
The Boiler had its Yearly Service By Vaillant but the fault returned.
The Fault was F75 which I Googled and it was suggested it was either the Pump or Pressure sensor.

Vaillant engineer cam back and changed the Sensor and now seems OK. 5 minute job.
The Sensors can get clogged and then cannot control the pressure.

I use Ben +44 7734 351727. He's local and very reliable. Worth giving him a bell and maybe getting him to pop by. Maybe leave it an hour or two though as he's mid way through fitting a new rad for me :-)

I would recommend Daniel too. He was able to fit me in at short notice, was competitively priced and thorough with his inspection.

If the pressure keeps dropping, it means you have a leak somehwere in your system.
If it's below your ground floor then there may not be any sign of a leak.
You can use Fernox F4 Express Leak Sealer which you insert in a radiator bleed nodule and it usually sorts the problem.
