Love it!

In a similar-ish vein (driving beat and quite funky)

Only one way to start the day, by celebrating the great man...

Indeed - a tribute from Madness.

Sorry to spoil the homage to Prince Buster.

Bit early for the weekend but this will still blow your minds

There's a South East London connection too.

I'm having a The Walkmen (one of the most consistently underrated bands of recent times) and Hamilton Leithauser (their front man) binge at the moment. The latest single is great.

His voice is my favourite in music at the moment.

I remember playing on the same bill as H.O.L in the early 2000s - which is an indication of how far they'd fallen from the public consciousness. Still, they seemed happy to be there and playing on stage, and they sounded good.

Ran into Guy a few years later when he was living round these parts, fixing sash windows for a living. Way more lucrative than music, I dare say.

15 yeasr ago or so, he had a flat on Camberwell Grove, worked in the bookshop that used to be on Camberwell Grove and drank in the Funky Monkey. Nice fella - very quiet.

Coincidently, I met Debbie Harry at one of their gigs. Mercury Rev (when they were still noiseniks) were the support act.

NB: I loved that second hand book shop on Camberwell Grove. Sadly missed.

The day Dylan went electric and changed the world of popular music overnight.

Here's a blistering run through of Maggie's Farm with some red hot Mike Bloomfield guitar stings.

Love it Jah - all the more remarkable as Dylan had only got the band together on a whim the night before.

I asked I Ludicrous to play at my wedding party thingy. They had a lame excuse of being out of practice or something. Got to see them at the Hope and Anchor in more recent times. I've posted there footy related tracks elsewhere on this forum. Of course John was a clerk for most of his working life and when we saw them about ten years ago it looked like they had both come from the office. I'll probably see John at a 60th in a few weeks time. Wow, what a rock and roll life I lead.
