We got a mother and daughter cat from Celia Hammond a few years ago and highly recommend. We also have children so wanted cats that would get on well with them and they were good finding cats that would be happy with us. Mum and daughter in our case have a really strong bond so would recommend as often people just look for a pair of kittens.

Candy - it's inadvisable to advertise a cat on the internet because anyone who sees your advert can respond and you won't know anything about that person or what they're going to do with the cat - they could want it as bait for training a fighting dog for all you know. Have you tried the animal charities listed above by ED bird. They will visit potential homes to check that people are genuine and that the home is the right one to suit that particular cat. I recommend that you contact Croydon Animal Samaritans http://www.croydonanimalsamaritans.co.uk/

Their email address is [email protected]

Rescue charities will foster a cat first to get to know its character so that it can be placed in a home which suits it, but they don't always have a foster home available as they're often full with rescued animals. I'm sure they will help you but if you have any problem, I know the local cat rescuer for Croydon Animal Samaritans, so can phone her for you if you send me a private message on here to give me your contact details, so that she can get in touch with you. Please let us know on here how you get on, as I'm sure all the cat lovers on the forum will be concerned to see that this cat goes to a safe and loving home.

Further to that, it's known that people looking for pets for bait use a cover person - a well dressed or nicely presentable person to reassure the owner that their pet will be taken care of.

They are paid to do this and the pet will be given to dog fighting gangs.

Just please don't put your pets on social media or gumtree. Go to a recognised charity.

    • There is deliberately nowhere to enter your phone number, name, address etc anywhere when registering an account on this forum. There never has been. There is no way to attach this sort of personal information to your account.  If someone says that EDF has given your phone number, then this is a lie. No personal information is sold to any third party and it is not collected in the first place.
    • Anyone else received a cold call from this company pretending to be calling on behalf of EE? When I asked how they’d got my data they said ‘from East Dulwich forum’. I have contacted the Admin to find out whether EDF are selling our data to marketing companies or if they’ve been hacked. Alternatively the website is being scraped somehow.    Just warning others in case anyone else receives a call- it’s a scam, do not engage with them 🙂
