Nicked / lost scooter from Goose Green

Has anyone else had an experience of a micro scooter going missing from Goose Green play park? My three year old son scooted there two Saturdays ago and it disappeared. We went back to look for it a few times but it was never returned. Just wonder if it's a common event and I should carry the next one around with me all time? TIA
