Autumn babies (September, October, November) 2019

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi,

I'm expecting my third baby in mid-September. I had a great group of other mums (and dads) when I had my second baby, formed through this forum, and it would be lovely to recreate that as it's so important to have other people to chat to, whinge to, ask questions of in the middle of the night!

Shall I set up a facebook group so we can easily get in touch? We actually ended up with a whatsapp group of over 100 members (imperative to turn notifications off on that one!) with my previous group so if there's interest in that I am happy to set it up. But let's start with facebook which is a bit more "dip in when you want to"...

Hope to meet some of you and hope you are enjoying your pregnancies so far.

Hello,

I'm due with second baby 5th Nov. Had a lovely gang of NCT mates for my first mat leave. Will be home alone for this second one, so would love to join whatever gang is on offer! Had a look for the FB group but can't find it. Can you point me in the right direction?

Looking forward to an eventful winter!

Dear Mums to be,

My name is Bruna and I am psychotherapist student - at Birkbeck?s MSc Children and adolescents psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy.

I am currently looking for a mum who is due in October or November. Could you possibly help me?

A very important part of my learning is the infant observation I am required to do. For one year or eighteen months(starting at the baby?s first week or so) I will visit the family?s home for one hour a week.

The aim of this, is to simply observe and learn from the baby?s development. I will obviously do my very best not to interfere with the baby?s (and your!!) routine.

I would be happy to provide you references from my tutors and from my current employer (I have been working for this family since 2015, looking after their two adorable kids).

I am aware this is a big ask, but I would immensely appreciate your help. My email address is [email protected]. Please do let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Bruna Toriello

    • Very thoughtful and illuminating post.  I've never been attacked, and seen few incidents over the years.  Most worrying has been road rage and whilst I have been in the right, you learn when not to challenge someone (difficult at times to say can you please give me space, look before you turn and the like).  When I first came to London you'd see the odd brawl outside a pub, but it felt worse when I lived in more rural areas - bored youths and more tribal (the Abingdon youths having a brawl with Didcot).  Had one break in, two cars and three bikes stolen whilst I have been in London, although all but one bike not particularly valuable.  Breaking into builders vans seems the current trend, and stealing some high end motors - the latter was common when I worked on this issue twenty years ago so hasn't been sorted. But ultimately most of us are decent people, and our kids grow up to be decent people.  Although my peer group is people like you DD so I am somewhat biased!  How much greed/Thatchers children has changed things over the last forty years I don't know.  Of course nothing wrong with individuals wanting to be successful and to be a new owner/occupier in this area now you need to have some money behind you rather than us old hippies who moved in when it was a very different area.  And the high costs of renting too. Good points on the gangs, sadly I don't know the solutions.  I work with younger children and sometimes wonder how it can go so wrong in a few years time.
    • nope - I can't see anything - what I said was "IF were to take a look we would see" But if we look at Cat's profile any of us  can see "last visited" - and he has been a frequent visitor
    • No of course they shouldn't, but if you are really unhappy with a service and nothing improves when you (and others)  complain, then an obvious option is to go elsewhere rather than stay in a bad situation. Especially where your health is concerned.
    • Are you able to see forum ip records and frequency of access because normal users can't 🤔
