Unknown Low Frequency Boiler/Bass Noise

I wish someone could solve a massive mystery. I live on Adys Road and for the last 2 months we've been hearing a low frequency noise, that sounds like it could be the bass of music, or a failing boiler or potentially the reverberations of something else, trains perhaps.

It's a real nuisance and it comes on everyday, in the morning, evening and sometimes in the early morning. It's currently on as I type.

If anyone has clues what this could be, or if its even council related, please get in touch.

It's literally like slow torture! :(

Hi,

Thanks for replying. This is unreal that you are also hearing this noise. I'm going to call them on Monday as well, as this is the type of thing that can drive you from your own property.

If anything further unfolds, I'll be sure to let you know!

Hi,

So the noise is noticeable to you. That's good to know, just in case this noise is coming from someones home, they should at least know.

It's awful.

No more working from home until it's sorted!

    • I'm looking for a guitar teacher for my 17 year old son. In terms of music that he likes, he says he's interested in learning fingerpicking (although I guess he needs to learn the basics first!). He listens to quite a lot of acoustic guitar stuff as well as indie stuff, has a curious interest in Japanese pop and loves folk too. Ideally we would be looking for someone who could do one-to-one lessons at my flat, which is 5 minutes walk from Honor Oak tube station.
    • Enforcement for both drivers and cyclists low priority for the police and our local politicians. Not my decision.  I'd happily make those that don't know or bother with mirror signal manoeuvre, or cut corners, resit their test, but that would be 90 percent of drivers so would overwhelmed the system and lead to civil unrest.  A more straightforward response would be to put the car in a crusher but that would be even less popular.  I'll consult the old testament to see what else could be done
