Dulwich pre-school - positive/negative experiences?

I am interested in sending my son to Dulwich preschool but would first be very interested to hear from anyone who has any experience of this place. Positives/negatives etc.

Many thanks.

Thanks for your post - a bit far for us unfortunately, we're the other side of East Dulwich. Also, I think I need slightly longer hours (9.30ish-2.30ish 2/3 days a week) than a school nursery. The two nurseries I'm looking into at the moment are Dulwich pre-school or Lammas Green. Buds is another possibility I guess, although a bit unsure about that one as I know someone who wasn't so positive about it.

I think Buds is lovely. Definitely true that they are not too hot on admin but the children are well cared for and love being there, so I don't really care about the other stuff. My son is 3 and a half and has been going since he turned 2. I have just upped his hours to 9-3.30 x3 days a week, he was going 9-1, but I need the extra time now.

They don't have sleeping facilities so if your child is only 2 and still needs a daytime sleep you may need a real nursery as opposed to a pre-school.

It depends what you are looking for - if you want them to be hot-housed and learning Mandarin then this is not the place, but for a fun, warm, friendly environment with caring staff and lovely kids, then you can't go worng

    • I'm basing it on 20+ years cycling in London and seeing the absolute biggest rule-breakers being my fellow cyclists. I once stopped at a zebra crossing to let a man cross and a cyclist behind me called me a putain for stopping.  I've even witnessed a grown man aggressively ringing his bell and swearing at a four year old child for not getting out of his way.... on a footpath.... in Burgess Park.  I genuinely cannot remember the last time a cyclist stopped for me at a pedestrian crossing.  They give the rest of us cyclists and bad name and turn the traffic against us.
