Pushchair advice needed!

Hi all I'm having a bit of a nightmare trying to find the perfect pushchair snd wondered if anyone has any suggestions. (Sorry for very long post!) My son is 16 months old, quite small for his age, and we have the Icandy Cherry at the moment. I find it really comforatable for me - it's the right height and easy to push and I loved it with the carrycot but as he's got older he's often struggling to sit more upright than the seat allows and the seat is also too deep for him and is tilted too far back so he's either slumped with his lower back not supported or else is straining to haul himself forward and balance on the front part of the seat. I've detatched the shoulder straps so he can move a bit but he just doesn't look comforatble.

I tried him in the McClaren Techno today and he looked really happy and comforatable, but I couldn't stand it as I like to take long strides and keep kicking the wheels on every umbrella fold stroller I've tried. I also tried out the Baby Jogger City Mini which was perfect for me but had the same problems for him as the icandy but worse! I've read good reviews of the Mamas & Papas Luna but don't think it can be bumped down stairs which is no good.

So I seem to be stuck - it seems like one or other of us can be comfortable but not both! Has anyone else struggled with the same problem and found the perfect solution? I also want it to fold in one piece and ideally not be horribly expensive since we already spent so much on the iCandy. In desperation I've ordered two wedges of foam to try to make the icandy seat more comfortable but that doesn't solve the folding problem. Many thanks to anyone who has made it to the end of this post and has any suggestions! :-)

Hmmm....tricky!!

The phil and teds smart is v upright - but 2 handles and folds in 2 pieces I think...

Bugaboo bees....but expensive....

I think you might have to go to John Lewis/mothercare/peppermint and try other prams out! Annoying the umbrella folds don't work for you. This website is pretty good for general buggy info...

Have you tried extending the handles on the maclaren? We went round john.Lewis to test pretty much every pushchair and it had the highest handles once they were pulled out. I am tall and like to stride out too so I know where you are coming from!

    • That's a good idea smiley blue , if you or anyone else comes across petitions to end these despicable acts of cruelty to defenceless animals please put on here or start a new thread if you please so we can sign the petition and add our objections to this , I would also like to thank all of you the people for reading these messages and adding your voices to this cruelty,  maybe we can end it
    • Malumbu, by that measure are police efforts to cut down on anti-social driving by issuing tickets and fines a token effort as well? Surely punitive measures for cyclists breaking the rules will encourage them not to break the rules again? A bit like when you got stopped and taken into the cab of an HGV. The police are currently using that tactic to show those who break the rules cycling that it might lead them to being hit by a lorry due to the driver's having limited vision - the cycling equivalent of a speed awareness course for drivers.    When they stopped you was it because you had broken a rule or was it just more of an education programme and they asked you to take a look and did it change your cycling behaviour in any way? As I said previously there are those who break the rules on cycling out of ignorance (and those out of arrogance) and I am sure they are using HGVs to educate those in the ignorance category and then hitting those in the arrogance category with the PCNs.
    • Good that PETA is on it but can we add our voices to the fight against this horrible practice? I’m still shocked! A petition maybe? Happy to raise to the RSPCA but don’t want to duplicate efforts. I’ve signed campaigns from RSPCA before which sends it directly to your councillor
    • Yes, I'm aware of that. I believe the brood was five to begin with. However they are almost adult size now so not the prey of rats any longer.
