Hello,

a few messages below yours, I recommended our cleaning lady Oskana. She would be available for 8 hours a week. She has been with us for two years and I couldn't recommend her more warmly.

She not only cleans very thoroughly, but also tidies up the whole house. Even my parents complemented me on how much tidier our house was after she started :-)

Despite her youth (she is under 30), she is very experienced in housekeeping. She does laundry at other houses, and also keeps an eye on the children. Both my kids love having her around. She is very pleasant, quiet, and friendly. She is extremely reliable and, when I need to change the time, very flexible. Whenever I need to reach her, she answers her mobile promptly. She comes from the Ukraine and her English is good.

This is all that comes to mind for now. If you would like more information, please pm me. If you want to contact her directly, her mobile number is 07878 184319

Kind regards,

Eva

Hello, are you still looking for someone to do housework and if so are you on the Nunhead/Peckham/Camberwell side of East Dulwich???.

I am returning to work after 7 months off with a broken leg and foot and am interested in any kind of work. I am very experienced at all kinds of housework and laundry in particular having run the laundry at MOrden College the prestidious residential home in SE3. I am an older person who was born on Telegraph Hill and have lived all my life in Telegraph Hill and New Cross.

After a lifetime of careers as a Nursing Auxiliary, Librarian, Teaching Assistant, Met Police PCSO and Detention Officer, Residential Home Laundry Manager and RHS Gardener, I have run my own cleaning/gardening business for the last few years, working mostly in Dulwich. I have excellent references. I am CRB checked and have Public Liability Insurance. My extensive CV is available via email.

I have given up driving and I am now working closer to home, within bus/walking distance of my home in New Cross.

I am excellent at Cleaning and Ironing, and also do Gardening- particularly small/medium hedge cutting and pruning roses but no longer do heavy digging, Pet sitting, I have Child care certificates, I enjoy office and reception work. I have an office and the equipment to do office work in my own home.

I charge ?8-10ph for cleaning house; Hedge cutting/front garden makeovers start at ?5.00. I can also do 'End of Tenancy cleaning' for bargain prices starting at ?30(flats)/?50(houses) and can provide the recognised estate agent receipt and cleaning inventory. I am well known to Winkworths New Cross. I can do regular, one off, fortnightly, pre and post party/guest work and can work evenings and weekends when required.

My contact numbers are 0207 358 988 or 07436816954 or email [email protected]

Many thanks, Anne Maple

    • Can anyone help / offer advice, please? I just sold a fairly rare and quite valuable vintage knitting machine and accessories to a business as a private sale to a business. It's run a couple who specialise in repairing and reselling secondhand knitting machine parts. I tested the machine and accessory prior to selling and both were working. The business has just texted me with a fairly aggressive message to say 'it can't be working as part of it is missing' and that the pattern reading accessory does not work. I know that both parts were working when I handed them over, so it is just their word against mine. (I haven't replied to ask what part is missing yet) When they arrived to pick up, the owner said he needed to do 'due diligence' ie to open the case of the machine and check it was all there. He did all that and did not mention anything was missing at that point. They paid by bank transfer on pickup. Unfortunately for me, I got them to pay into my business ac (even though I no longer run a business and am retired, I still have the account) and now they say because they paid to a business ac they can dispute the payment. I did get them to sign a delivery note with a list of items that they were buying  but I did not specify 'bought as seen' on the note. How does it work when it's one person's word against another? I originally found the business online and emailed them with the details and photos. They had good reviews for selling items (but no reviews re: buying items) The owner always replied by phone rather than email so although I have notes of our conversations I do not have anything in writing from him. I'm feeling angry at having trusted them and also upset - textile design was my career before I retired and I wish I'd just given the machine to a charity now1 Any helpful advice much appreciated!
    • There are several threads on here about door to door sellers with similar false stories, but I don't know what the thread headings were or how to find them. Someone else may have a better memory! No idea who to contact, possibly the police non urgent number, can't remember what it is, sorry.
    • My objection is that it is an Americanism. Spoken id prefer Mon to Thurs. In writing Mon - Thurs.
    • Couple of likely lads knocking doors earlier this evening, claiming to be from ‘rehabilitation project’ and trying to sell cleaning kit to raise money to get into a hostel. Not really putting much effort into trying to hide that they casing local houses around the library area.  So be it, be aware. But my question is what to do in such circumstances. Should I contact police - who? how? - or the council or something? Would appreciate advice.
