I've been invited to the Lord Mayor's banquet, and the only thing I have to wear is the underpants and socks (Marks and Sparks will do?)

Is there somewhere local that I can hire the necessary clobber for the day? That would include a decent pair of shoes.

Out of curiosity, what is the dress code for the Lord Mayor's banquet?

I haven't a clue- that's why I need Moss Bros. I guess it's fairly full on- I'm told I should wear my medals. They can't all fit- which one to choose?

But I really like old soldiers, and it should be an experience and a half.

Lord Mayor's Banquet is probably white tie, but if you're ex services I would have thought there's a uniform equivalent.

In my experience, Lipmans are better that Moss Bros. There's a branch on Fleet Street so 63 will drop you quite close.

No, not ex-services, but I met a lot of serving and retired soldiers. Thanks for the Lipman's advice.
