Plumber recommendation - Lee Garvey

Wanted to recommend a plumber I haven't actually used! I range Lee from Garvey Plumbing 07881 277385 after seeing the recommendations on here as we have an intermittent problem with our underfloor heating. Lee explained what it might be but said we should leave it be unless it continually recurs. It was refreshing to find he wasn't looking to drum up business for himself so I thought I would post a recommendation. I will definitely use Lee if anything does go wrong as he was very knowledgable about underfloor heating.

I would like to second this recommendation. We had continuing issues with our underfloor heating which no-one seemed able to explain and it seemed it was going to cost a substantial amount of money to get it fixed. Lee turned up and fixed the problem within minutes for an extremely reasonable sum and we have been warm ever since. We would definitely call on him again if we had issues with our heating.

Wanted to say what a great experience I had with Lee last week. He diagnosed the problem over the phone which avoided me paying the initial call out fee and he bought the spare part, liaised with my tenants and got the job done on time when he said he would. Thankfully I've found a local plumber who's reliable, reasonable and gets the job done. Thanks Lee and well done.

Another good recommendation for Lee. He came out within 30 mins and gave me some good advice for fixing my three plumbing problems - the advice was free and we're trying out the cheap solutions before investigating further and incurring cost. I will use Lee if we can't fix the problems ourselves. Great experience.

I'd also like to recommend Lee. He is punctual, polite and his work is to a very high standard. He made multiple visits to fix many different plumbing issues and his rates are extremely reasonable.

He also really takes the time to properly investigate the problems and give helpful advice to find the best solution to save the customer time and money.

I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Another recommendation for Lee, who I contacted after seeing all the positive reviews on the forum. He came out within an hour of me calling him and fixed the problem within minutes for a very reasonable fee. Delighted to have found a local plumber who is reliable, affordable and a really nice guy.

Would also recommend Lee. He quickly diagnosed the problem, identified that we would need an electrician as well, and arranged to come back with parts and electrician (who had already been told what might need to be fixed, so came along prepared). Would definitely use again.

I would highly recommend Lee. He plumbed in a heated towel rail, which turned into a bit of a difficult job and he had to work a few more hours. As he had agreed a price upfront, he stuck to it despite the additional labour required. We get to enjoy lovely warm towels in the morning now :)

He is also helpful with recommendations of e.g. builders and other handymen.

I called Lee today based on these recommendations for an emergency in our flat - a leak from the kitchen causing water to come through the bedroom ceiling! He made time in his schedule to come out and assess, he quickly identified the problem and fixed it, v happy and will definitely be using again.

I called Lee based on these posts yesterday as the flat below us had reported a leak. Lee diagnosed the fault the same day and was able to recommend other local businesses that could help with faulty appliance repair. Very friendly, efficient, tidy and helpful.

I've responded Alan. However the post does appear a bit negative, so just to clarify this is someone asking me to give a price. I wouldn't want posters to have the impression I've walked out on a job.

Sorry for late response. As previously mentioned in pm, my wife and I recently had a baby and have had our hands full this month, this my private messages have been a tad neglected.

Many thanks

Lee

    • Was told today by TJGP (not a doctor) that if you want a referral, that they can only be done on a Monday and a Thursday.  This means that you can only book a consultation for that purpose on those days.  I sincerely hope this information is incorrect.  Has anyone heard this before?
    • Back to the nonsense that is going on at the moment.  Rumbles of discontent in the Tory party as many MPs fear annihilation.   No bounce from increasingly desperate measures; the manufactured culture wars in particular 'ending the war on motorists' having virtuyally no impact.  Most wont switch their votes due to LTNs, 20mph and ULEZ, and many who do will go to Reform and split the right wing vote.  I'd love a major party that would make the environment one of its central pledges.  LTNs of course were a Johnson initiative, one of the few things that I agree with him on. The pity is that they wont go now, and will leave scorched earth for Labour to inherit late in the year.  The most pathetic example is the ads encouraging drivers not to hog the middle lane.  One of the least of the frustrations in terms of poor motoring, and not a patch on poor urban driving which kills and seriously injures far more.  Badged as National Highways rather than the 'desperate party'.   www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-campaign-targets-middle-lane-hogging-and-tailgating.  What a shame Starmer didn't take a stronger line following Uxbridge.  Well if those people prefer air pollution compared to improving health then stuff them.  Or even better this was a decision for our elected mayor, and stuff Uxbridge, it's hardly a target seat.
    • Does anyone have one they no longer need please?
    • Earl, the devil is always in the detail and the detail very much suggests it is not disingenuous nonsense - what is disingenuous are some of the headlines concocted by the pro-cycle lobby to present a good news story.  More often than not a lot of the pro-cycle headlines have been "selectively plucked" to create a story and you highlight a very real example of that.   We have discussed previously the claim that there are now more cyclists in the City/Square Mile than motorists (which was always a correct but slightly misleading headline as cars never really returned to the City after the bomb checkpoints were put in decades ago) - it is also important to note that walking is still the main mode of transport within the Square Mile by a country mile (although at the time of the report at 80% of pre-pandemic levels). And the claim of a "massive jump" in cycling - look at the figures - even in the City (which has become the poster-child for the pro-cycle lobby on the basis of that more cycles than cars headline) the very report that gave that selectively plucked headline showed a very different story that cycling was at 102% of pre-pandemic figures. https://www.forbes.com/sites/carltonreid/2023/03/01/cyclists-now-outnumber-motorists-in-city-of-london/   Attached are the actual numbers from the report presented to the City of London Corporation which tells a very different story from the headlines. You can find it here: https://democracy.cityoflondon.gov.uk/documents/s182959/Appendix 6 Transport Trends Graphs and Charts.pdf  But yes, cyclists do now outnumber motorists in the City of London that is correct but for all of the investment in cycling infrastructure and sacrifices made to bus lanes etc would one have not expected a bigger jump in cycling in the City? Often the headlines are written by the pro-cycle lobby to distract people from the fact that the boom in cycling (as a proportion of all journeys) is just not materialising despite the huge amount of investment to make the cycling revolution happen.
