Polite, reliable and honest plumbers are a species on the brink of extinction and that's why I thought I'd take the time to highly recommend A.F.E Plumbing Services.

I hired them to fit some sink taps; Aria showed up on time, did the job very well and was very knowledgeable. He also helped me with a problem with the main stop cock which had seized up over time.

I want my bathroom redone but can't afford it just yet. He fixed the leaks and got things working well until I'm ready to go ahead with the works.

He was friendly, reliable and efficient. Here is his number 07739 734 895.

We had an emergency yesterday (18 July)and called A.F.E. Plumbing. The service was absolutely first rate and filled us with confidence from the beginning - they came very quickly indeed, communicated very clearly with us throughout (we were abroad), and fixed the problems both under the sink and in an external drain within an hour. The fee was very competitive even before they gave us the 10% discount. We can't recommend them highly enough and will definitely use them again - thanks very much!

Aria came out promptly to help me get to the bottom of a damp problem, which several others had looked at and hadn't been able to find the cause. He was helpful, polite, listened, and spent time looking at the job and discussing the possible causes. He got Thames Water out to replace the main stop in the street, and came back to meet their engineer as I couldn't be there. Really feel like I'm making progress with this one at last. Still work to be done, but excellent service so far!

I found Aria on the East Dulwich Forum. I was very impressed he was able to come to us very promptly and he was very professional and courteous. He told us exactly what the problem was and was able fix it at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend him and would call him again if we had any plumbing problems

Aria did a great job- prompt, reliable, worked super swiftly, polite and gave a good price. He arranged for someone else to come out within 2 hours to sort out a further problem.

Pleased to have dealt with a helpful and professional plumber as have not always had a good experience in the past.

Thanks :-)

I can also give a high recommendation for Aria. We are renovating our first home and Aria helped us re-plumb the kitchen, not a small task. He was very polite and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be using his devices again in the future and would absolutely recommend him to other people.

Bea Erler:I second that. Late last week, I asked Aria from AFE Plumbing Services to come around and replace a shower unit. (tel: 07739734895 ). He arrived bang on the appointed time of 2pm last Monday, he then sourced an exact match of the old shower unit, so that the result remained in synch with the full bathroom suite, and installed it very promptly with minimum fuss. Further the fees charged were very fair indeed. I can give the highest recommendation. I certainly will use his services again.

Would definitely recommend Aria for a plumber. We had a real emergency and were desperate for a plumber. After much panic by us, he came around very promptly and fixed a leak and blockage on a kitchen sink. He is friendly, polite and well priced. His contact details are 07739734895.

Aria and his team were great. Came round within 4 hours same day (non emergency), very straightforward, reliable, very reasonable rates (also had the option of paying cash or bank transfer). Really pleased to have found a local reliable plumber, would be happy to use them again.

Another ringing endorsement for A.F.E. Plumbing. I needed a toilet replacing due to a leak. Aria came back to me quickly, collected all the parts and the quality of the job and service was great. He's really professional and friendly, which always helps! Will definitely use A.F.E. again and would recommend them to others.

Another recommendation for A.F.E Plumbing Services. I text Aria yesterday evening asking if he could come out and fix a leaking pipe in our attic. He was here this morning at 10am with the problem solved by 11.20am! Very efficient, friendly and helpful guy along with his brother and apprentice. Readonable price - would definitely use them again.

More praise for Aria, I contacted him yesterday after seeing reviews on the forum. He was able to work around my times, came same day and fixed my bath leak in 30 mins at a reasonable price. Really nice team (brother, apprentice and Aria) and would definitely recommend him.

I can recommend AFE Plumbing services - we had water damage in our flat due to our neighbours above and Aria was very helpful in checking the leak had been rectified in our neighbour's flat for our insurance claim. He was able to fit us in quickly, arrived on time, was very polite and also replaced the taps on our shower for a reasonable sum. Aria's number is 07739 734895.

    • all I said was "take a pro cash stance too far" - what twisting have I done?   plenty of good arguments for retention of cash - but let's not get too detached from reality either lest we go back to trading livestock   But to go back to your post DD:   "Or don't stop using cash" Yep plenty of people will agree with this - nothing controversial here   "Stop using your phone or even your watch as a banknote" - getting a bit weird now - why not - it's super convenient for both users and businesses. And far easier to keep a track of your balance using your electronic wallet than old systems of cheques taking days to clear, how much did I take from cashpoint 2 days ago etc. But people will differ so whatever works   "God only knows how much damage we're doing to the planet because all the above must require a hell of a lot of resources and juice from the grid" - big straw man argument here. Why bring this in? Unless you are also suggesting we don't buy any goods not made from within a 5 mile radius and nothing transported by air or sea? "a big lump of plastic with a screen and full of personal information that can be easily gleamed." I've had my phone stolen but nothing was lost because it was secure.I've been mugged and lost cash and valuable. It's not a binary thing   "your sky rocket with a phone in your hand. It's become a source of dopamine for many. It's an addiction for many."  Proper overreaching now
    • I agree with the posts that housing is an urgent need in Peckham and throughout Southwark. But as Alice says, it’s the percentage of social / affordable housing that matters. In October last year, there were over 4,200 households on the Council’s waiting list for housing in Peckham alone (over 17 thousand across Southwark). But the developer is only offering 35% affordable housing (which means that 65% will be unaffordable). Both Southwark Council and the GLA say that a big development like this should provide 50% affordable housing.   Re-development of the site is a great opportunity to make the town centre “cleaner, safer and more sustainable and welcoming” (borrowing Nigello’s great words). Is this dense development going to do that, when it provides no real green and open space where people can spend time outside and nature can help us tackle the growing problems of climate change like absorbing flood water, cooling the air on baking summer days? Are 7-storey buildings along Rye Lane (where the average buildings are 2-3 storeys) going to be welcoming to users of the town centre? How will the development impact on Peckham’s economy? Currently there is busy daytime commercial activity of shops providing for different demographics and needs including a rich offering of international groceries and other products, alongside a thriving night-time economy. I can’t see anything in the proposal that suggests how it will enhance and empower the local economy. Yes please, let’s have a great development on this site that enhances the town centre. This means not letting the developer get away with packing people into dense blocks that turn their back on the town centre and which will be a recipe for urban decay in the long run. Peckham deserves better than this!
