Soundproofing help

Looking for first hand advise on soundproofing a ceiling.

We have recently moved into a Victorian house (flat conversion) in SE23. We are on the ground floor and our bedroom is directly below our neighbour's kitchen. Although the family upstairs are not doing anything unordinary, any noises travel very easily down to us in the bedroom...footsteps, stuff being moved about, dishwasher, we can even hear the coffee machine. They have a new baby and are understandably up very early, but this is directly impacting our sleep.

They have tiles on the floor so ripping this up would ruin their floor. We do luckily have very high ceilings so could afford to lose some height.

Has anyone had any similar work done or able to suggest someone to help?

Did soundproofing the ceiling work for you?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Pam,

Thanks for the reply. Did you have 1 room done or more? What type of soundproofing system did you have put in? What was the cost? Thanks a lot...I have contacted the company you suggested but would be good to know more of your experience. Thanks.
