plumber recomendation

I wanted to add to the chorus of glowing reviews of Gerry who I found on this forum. The bath had sprung a leak and the neighbour downstairs told us his ceiling was starting to bow...(there was no obvious damage in our bathroom and our bath panel is tiled so the pipes weren't easily accessible). Gerry went out of his way to help us, kindly squeezing us in at 7.30am before his other jobs. He cut the tiles, replaced the broken pipe and installed an access panel using the original tiles. All with minimum fuss and charged the most reasonable price I think I've ever paid for a plumber. Oh, and he's lovely to boot. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him and I'm really pleased to find such a local gem. His number is 07872 303925.

Another vote for Gerry. Called him last week for a non urgent dripping tap. He came the next day & we agreed a new tap was the best idea. He came to fit this yesterday. He was a little bit late but totally understandable as he?d been called out to an emergency leak which had taken longer than expected. He was very apologetic & quickly made a good job of replacing my tap for a very reasonable price. Great to be able to find & recommend a reliable plumber!

    • door to door selling has been around for years. It is not illegal.
    • They are not from 'rehabilitation schemes'. There are no such schemes that sell door-to-door. I have checked this myself with the probation services and been told by them that it's a scam. Trading Standards say: “Don’t deal with cold callers. Full stop. At the most innocent, they’re selling overpriced goods. At the more sinister end, they're assessing the potential for more serious crimes". It wouldn't hurt to report to the non-emergency number, 101. As Sandyman says, the police may use the information to direct future resources.
    • Can't imagine the police can do much about suspected casing of houses - sadly they don't seem able to do much even when thefts have been caught on camera. But no harm reporting - they supposedly use this data to direct future resources.
