Insolvency advisior

Due to loss of income since lockdown, and organisations we work with not able to renew their contacts due to their own finances, it looks as though the CIO charity I am involved with may have to go down the insolvency route as we have used up our reserves. We have not been eligible for the various grants funded by government (we have one outstanding but if successful will not fund until October) Staff are furloughed at the moment.

We need to keep our costs down so if anyone can recommend an insolvency advisor who is not too expensive or a voluntary organisation, they must be familiar with Charity Incorporated Organisations (CIO)

You can contact Citizens Advice at first, the National line should be able to tell you which office in London may be able to give you advice on the issue in person. They have a bankruptcy advisory service at the Royal Court of Justice but due to Covid-19 measures it may be closed. The website has an informative section about bankruptcies at https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/debt-solutions/bankruptcy-2/

Best of luck and stay strong.
