What Is Bawdale Road Like?

Recommended Posts

A friend from work has put an offer on a place in Bawdale Road. (he is waiting to hear back from the agent.) It would be good to hear from people who live on and around the road.

What is parking like, is it noisey in the evenings...... all that kind of stuff....

Thanks for your help.....

I live on the corner. Fairly quiet, depending on how far up you are (the roof tile place has noisy roofers from very early a.m., altho evenings are quiet thank goodness) - parking is a nightmare (far worse than Archdale Rd, e.g.). Otherwise, it's great and very friendly. Fab position - everything close to hand. Prices are such a joke i'm surprised anyone's buying anything unless you've won the lottery ;-) , there's a miniscule top floor flat in Bawdale on at 300K, which is so laughable i'm still crying... However, I think Bawdale's a good road, so good luck!

I have it on good authority ( a roofer funnily enough) that there is a brothel on Bawdale Road, dont know what number though. Maybe it should be renamed Bordel Road. A nice road though as I live nearby. :))

Yes, I heard the brothel rumour too. Apparently it no longer exists on Bawdale tho! I can reassure you that I haven't seen any obvious, er, 'visitors' to such establishments wondering up and down the road... although i don't know what brothel frequenters are supposed to look like!!! :))

Bawdale is a lovely road... the houses are really nice along there. But like the professor says, it seems to be very expensive these days. I was looking at flats last weekend, and there was a one bed flat for 290k, and a "one and a half" bed place for 300k.

Snorky isnt/ wasnt a visitor to the aforementioned basement flat...but he knows all

Apparently it is now closed - its comings and goings provided much asmusement to the regulars in franklins by all accounts and its location was well known - the Local constab. were also " aware" of the location and MAY have been vistors, hence the relative longetivity of the establishment, despite its notoriety

Snorky, thanks for the Brothel update.

My friend was trying to purchase a second floor flat but the deal seems to be falling flat. He was offering stupid amounts for it and the seller seems to be dragging his heels..... Best of out me thinks.

Keep twitching those curtains!!!!

Current prices really are mind-boggling! We sold our three bedroom house on Bawdale Road in 1994, during the great house price recession, for ?92,000 which was ?10k less than I'd bought it for three years previously. It was a very nice road to live on.

Thanks you all for your advice, I have just come back from having a look at the property on Bawdale Road.

You were pretty much spot on??

Bawdale Road seems to be a nice road and the flat was hideously overpriced.

I witnessed no evidence of a brothel?

Thanks again for your help!!!!

    • Looking for some advice here! Our little one is sleeping, finally, but still gets upset when going to bed or waking up. Has anyone tried one of the star/galaxy projectors you can get for them at night, and does it distract and sooth them enough to send them to sleep? Recommendations are very welcome here, as there are many different options online, from the suspiciously cheap to eye wateringly expensive. Is it a case of you get what you pay for? Advice gratefully received! LL
