Jarvis Road roadworks

Hi pecksnff,

You can see road works across London here - http://public.londonworks.gov.uk/roadworks/?x=Z11v1oqcDzF1MY77c012oA

It is not a great website - overly sensitive map function.

It shows on Jarvis Road 1 October to 2 November Southwark council plan to replace the pavement and build a raised table.

it also shows 18-24 October Thames Water doing 6" mains and 5m of road being dug up.

Hi James

Checked the site and noticed the works have now been extended by two weeks. Seems strange to be installing a raised table on such a small road. However the main concern is whether parking will still be available on this stretch of road once the school / hospital are open.

Think it's reduced it by just 2 spaces, 1 each side. I've been told that this is to allow a fire engine to be able to turn into the new entrance, so essential. I don't know, but assume the council doesn't have to consult for those kind of safety changes.
