River Peck blocked in Park

Who has blocked the flow of the River Peck in Peckham Park? And for what purpose? It' been silted for ages.

Dogs can no longer play and drink by the fallen tree next to the childrens' playground.

Maybe it needed cleaning regularly and that's stopped - I remember a thread from some time back.

The bridge over the Peck near to Colyton Road has been cordoned off for ages. Likewise, the area near the Japanese garden has been similarly, ahem, "worked on" for at least six weeks. It's never been a fast-flowing stretch of water. I think they are trying to do something with it; there's a poster in one of the notice boards.
