postal poll card

We received a postal poll card in the mail today. All it says is that the postal vote will be sent around 11th May. Unless I am missing something obvious, this seems like an absolute waste of paper & postal service. I do not see the point of sending a postal poll card saying the actual postal vote will be sent shortly. This is not environmentally friendly & is a waste of tax payers money.

Couldn't agree more! My husband received one today and I was similarly puzzled/annoyed.

They always do this and I always say the same thing.

To play Devil's Advocate, is it possibly a measure to reduce fraud? You are now expecting the actual voting card, and would report if it does not arrive.

However, I applied for postal vote online, received confirmation of it online, so perhaps they could send me an email to expect the voting card?

I'm so glad others think this too, for years I have opted for the postal vote & always wondered why they these pointless cards. Totally agree with virgosuzie why don't they email to say expect your postal vote.
