Dead fox over Greendale

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I found a decapitated fox over Greendale this morning. Just a heads up as my dogs were extremely interested in it and I had to drag them away. It's over the bit that's really overgrown so easily avoided. Quite a horrific sight. Can't think what would've done that to it.

😢😞

I was up at 5am this morning and looked out our window to see a fix running along Wanley road with what I thought might have been a cat in its mouth...it was huge with a long tail but I couldn?t see well enough to really confirm. Maybe it was another fox and perhaps they had been fighting or something? There are a huge amount of them that live in the green space.

Is that the mythical human that kills cats and other small to medium sized mammals, or just someone's dog? Or perhaps a car that hit it...

Probably better to tell the council.

It?s a long way from a road and doesn?t look like it?s got any bite wounds but it?s head is missing and it?s been partially skinned. Not sure what would cause these injuries but it?s a bit alarming and definitely sad as it was a lovely fox that I often saw while walking my dog.

I noticed the partial skinning too.

I have been in touch with SNARL and they asked me to take more photos today (a thoroughly unpleasant job) I have sent them the photos and they will take a look and decide if they need to investigate further.

    • I can recommend John Hudson. I've been taking lessons with him since last year and he's very good. He teaches most styles. You can find his contact details on his website - https://www.johnhudsonguitar.co.uk/
    • Hello, I was carrying my sleeping toddler on Sunday afternoon (21st April) and must have been pretty distracted and dropped my jumper from my bag. Iwas walking from Crystal Palace and then getting the 363 to The Gardens near Peckham Rye Park. Somewhere I seemed to have lost my favourite green jumper - is bright green, cashmere, from John Lewis, in case anyone spots it. Thank you! (Have phoned the bus garage too).
    • And what would you suggest for cyclists that also flout the rules?  Crush their bikes at the same facility that crushes errant drivers cars ?  Same rules and punishment must  apply to all road users (except runaway horses of course)
    • I'm looking for a guitar teacher for my 17 year old son. In terms of music that he likes, he says he's interested in learning fingerpicking (although I guess he needs to learn the basics first!). He listens to quite a lot of acoustic guitar stuff as well as indie stuff, has a curious interest in Japanese pop and loves folk too. Ideally we would be looking for someone who could do one-to-one lessons at my flat, which is 5 minutes walk from Honor Oak tube station.
