Fly tipping of garden waste has commenced

Recommended Posts

Definitely noticed an increase too but Southwark already had second highest number of reported fly tipping of garden waste in whole UK!

Council really ought to have had a credible plan to tackle this before introducing a charge that would make the problem even worse.

to the person who said I was fly tipping and i was most certainly not , who was obviously twitching from behind your curtains watching me carry heavy wardrobe doors down to the front ready for the council to pick up , "which I'd paid for" You could have been proactive in helping me carry the heavy wood instead of being a f*****g "grass".

This is predictable and a deliberate Ploy on behalf of Southwark Council.

They will now set up Teams of Fly Tipping Officers who will be out and about to catch garden waste Fly Tippers

and Hand out Hefty Fines to make Southwark Council a Fortune.

Close down Public Toilets and Fine people when they Pee in the street.

Get rid of Street Waste bins and Fine people when they throw litter on the Pavement.

Paint Yellow Lines everywhere and Fine people when they park and pop into a shop for 2 mins.

OTT response as per. Southwark like other Councils clearly don't make a fortune and are forced to look at other income streams. Maybe some of those fines should be introduced - urinating in the street maybe more than a fine

.

Judging by the amount of air space boxed off by all the ugly extensions around here- they already are!

I doubt that there is not one Policeman that has never been in the same situation

with the need to go for a Pee where anyone else would be arrested.

The binmen don't bother with the street. One of them went in my drive. You'd have thought he might at least have re-cycled one of those plastic milk cartons.

Hate to break it to you but we are not living in Medieval times - we have facilities and everything now. We also have always had spreadable diseases and extreme bad behaviour but neither are compulsory. Why policemen? No answer required.

I hope this is not another spin-off from the scheme...burning the garden waste...

Last evening, as soon as it was dark, someone in the area near Heber school started a bonfire which burned for hours....it smelled like wood that was burning. The whole house was full of smoke- as was everyone's, I daresay, as who did not have windows open?.I was just glad that my asthmatic daughter was not staying as it would have been horrible for her. Barbecues are bad enough in this area but bonfires as well.

    • I am at The Gardens. I saw GP on a Wednesday and he recommended physio, he checked availability and offered Tessa Jowell Centre for Saturday at 1 pm or Forest Hill Road Practice on a Monday at 11 am. I chose FH- very efficient/ Physio at FH very helpful, sent me some neck exercises and referred me for spinal assessment at Kings.
    • Of course, people's experiences may vary, but I'm afraid I can't recommend the DMC on Crystal Palace Rd.
    • Option 1.  Let them go bust.  Government takes over, until an appropriate solution found.  This happens with failing train operating companies  Option 2.  Anyone who made money on the privatisation, or their immediate descendants, bail them out  Obviously the latter isn't going to happen but makes me feel better/superior. What do you reckon?  Big picture.  Small picture as I posted elsewhere is that they were good when we had a leaking main.  And of course mass redundancies need to be avoided.
