Blimey! just what I've been saying.
Yes please, we need police on the streets. Especially between 1am and 4am when most of the crime happens with impunity.

There was a window smashed on a car on the corner of East Dulwich Grove & Elsie rd on Friday night.

Not technically ED but nearby in ND (Casino Avenue) my daughter and my neighbour had their car windows smashed sometime during the night. Just found out another neighbour had theirs smashed sometime during the night too so it must be the same offenders. Another neighbour in the same road had their car window smashed early hours Tuesday morning.

In my daughter's case, nothing was taken but they rifled through the glovebox.

One good bit of news - someone was arrested for breaking into cars on Ondine Road last night.

And what will be the result, slap on the wrist and free tickets to Chessington World of Adventure

We stayed in the Chessington World of Adventures hotel once. It was the worst place I've ever stayed in without contest. Possibly an appropriate punishment.

This type of crime is a blast from the past. People must be desperate! Practically died out with the widespread use of alarms and built in car radios/bluetooth. Car owners must be leaving valuables in the car? Stop doing this and it will die out. P.s. even a rubbishy pillow can look like a bag when it rains.

I came across two cars with smashed windows 8.20am today - East Dulwich Grove near Greendale and Melbourne Grove. Seems prolific.
Hopefully the arrest is for the person that caused these and all the others.

It is prolific and the police need to be targeting their limited resources at stopping it.

Limited resources may be better targetted on harm to people rather than objects

That is true Peckhampam but there is a chain that starts with people who are allowed to get away with low scale offences surely!

Amazed that no one has actually caught a glimpse of the perp. Seems odd with today's tech combined with a fairly decent London neighbourhood - that's pretty good at looking out for itself - and no one seems to have seen a thing. Guessing the culprit chooses the "right moment."
