Having just received a flyer through the door about this, I note that the price for collecting a large brown bin has increased to £30 from £25 last year (actually then discounted because they couldn't get the service up and running in April). That's a 20% increase in a year. Good, eh? But of course not covered by any Central Government caps. Neither are parking or CPZ charges of course. But the payment system worked fine.

Amended to add: But only card payments accepted, No provision for alternative payment methods.

Actually no. £25 was the discounted price for the service that commenced on 1 June i.e. for 10 months. So £30 for 12 months just reflects a proportionate increase to cover the full year.

Yes, you are quite correct, sorry - I have found a payment for £25 from last year. So maybe the headline cost has remained the same.

My expiry date is 31/03/2020 (same as everyone else) ??

So How do we pay for another year and I suppose we will need a new Sticker for our bins.

Just got an email from Southwark to Renew my Garden Waste Collection subscription.
So looks like they are now contacting people to do so.

April hasn't happened yet.

My guess is that there was a mass posting 3 weeks or so after they made the announcement, once enough people had responded to the flyer and paid up.
