I think Helen Hayes’ visit improved deliveries for everyone, for a while anyway. We certainly received a backlog of mail afterwards.

If only that were the case :-)

In reality it was likely the fact that the combined efforts of many people complaining to Royal Mail and Helen Hayes that resulted in a temporary improvement.

Nothing on time this week. Had one delivery of delayed post including a letter posted on the 8th informing me that I need to stay in for a gas safety check on Monday.

Yesterday my mum posted a second class letter for me from rural N Ireland, got it today.
Still waiting 2 weeks for a parcel posted from Cumbria though.

We have had two postal deliveries in the last fortnight. It seems that when our regular person is off they are simply not covered. I'm expecting several parcels which are now 2 weeks since posting - it really is absolutely infuriating. I have no faith whatsoever in getting anything on time but hopefully they'll turn up eventually. It does seem that if it arrives at the right moment it might come quicker than things which have got stuck in a huge backlog. Very fed up!

So Helen Hayes' visit doesn't seem to have had much effect?

😭

I got post today! Almost unheard of to get a Saturday delivery, but then I seem to have a new, friendly postie too!

I've just had a delivery! On a Sunday!

Replacement bulbs!

However, they were posted on 30 September...

At least this lot weren't already sprouting...

I had post on Sunday too. A birthday gift for me from a friend, posted before 29th September. She probably thought I was a right rude so-and-so for not thanking her for the gift.

No post for me on Sunday, but have a week's worth of post just delivered.
